FAQ

What do radiologists do?

Radiologists are medical doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating disease through medical imaging, such as an x-ray, MRI, or CT. These physicians have 13 years or more of training and are certified through the American Board of Radiology or American Osteopathic Board of Radiology. Diagnostic radiology uses a variety of imaging procedures and diagnostic radiologists, like those at TIPC, often have a subspecialty like musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, or breast imaging.

Why did I receive two bills?

You may notice that you’ve received one bill from Tualatin Imaging and another from Legacy Health. The bill from Tualatin Imaging is for the radiologist interpreting your exam and providing the ordering physician with a report. The bill from Legacy Health is for the use of the imaging equipment and technical support.

How do I make a payment?

TIPC is partnered with PBS West to handle billing and provide an online portal through our website. By clicking any of the “Pay My Bill” buttons on this site, you will be taken to the PBS West site to pay your bill.

What insurance does Tualatin Imaging accept?

Insurance can be confusing. Because plans and benefits vary, it is best to call your insurance carrier to answer specific questions about your policy, coverage, and deductibles.

How do I reach the Billing Department?

Our billing department can be reached at 1-888-752-6151 Monday through Friday from 7:30am until 4:30pm to assist you with your billing questions.

How will I get the results of my study or exam?

Once one of our board-certified radiologists interprets your exam, you will receive the results from your ordering physician. Although you may not see your radiologist personally, he or she will supervise and study your exam thoroughly.

Why didn’t Tualatin Imaging obtain pre-authorization for me?

Pre-authorization needs to come from your referring physician’s office. Insurance carriers frequently require chart notes from records at your doctor’s office to determine the medical necessity of the imaging study being ordered. Obtaining pre-authorization is the responsibility of the patient and the referring doctor.

How can I schedule an appointment?
